The Publisher Podcast Awards open for entries

The Publisher Podcast Awards, run by the team behind Media Voices, are now open for entries from publishers with podcasts.

The awards are designed to celebrate the podcasting success of publishers and media organisations, whether they’ve been in the podcasting space a while or have just launched their first one.

Categories range from best entertainment podcast to best B2B podcast, with options also available for niche topics and sponsored episodes to be recognised.

The winners will be revealed at a ceremony on 4th March 2020, at Proud Cabaret City, London.

The awards already have a number of top industry figures on board for judging, with more yet to be announced.

There are few existing award ceremonies dedicated to podcasting, and none looking specifically at the achievements of publishers. This is where the Publisher Podcast Awards come in.

“Storytelling is second nature to these businesses, and podcasting is a natural extension,” said co-founder Esther Kezia Thorpe. “But publishers still face challenges when launching a podcast, and it means a lot to be able to celebrate the successful ones who are really pushing the boundaries of what can be done with podcasts.”

The Publisher Podcast Awards is the first brand extension for the Media Voices team, who produce a weekly podcast with a news round-up, and an interview with a leading figure from the media industry.

Recent guests have included WIRED’s Nicholas Thompson, Google’s Madhav Chinnappa and Associated Media’s Julia Raphaely.

“Having worked with Chris and Peter for the past few years to get the Media Voices podcast past its milestone of 100 episodes, I’m really excited about the brand’s first extension into the Publisher Podcast Awards,” Esther said.

“We’re planning a great night for the award attendees – cool but classy – and love what Proud Cabaret City are working with us to put on.”

Entries for the awards close in November. For more information about the awards and how to attend, see the website.
