“Our first cover is dedicated to the 100 best TV shows of the 21st century. It’s the first time in our 21-year history that we’ve compiled such a definitive list,” said Laurence Mozafari, Digital Spy’s Editor.

The new publication – which is the first in Digital Spy’s history – features solely on Apple News+, offering consumers a premium and enhanced experience.

The Apple News+ platform gives our readers – who we know are hungry for ever more high-quality entertainment content – a great ecosystem to consume a plethora of deeper investigations, exclusive features, videos and interactive extras.

Matt Hill, Editor-in-Chief of Digital Spy

In supporting the magazine launch, we’re also embarking on a media campaign to drive sign ups to the Apple News+ service, using creative advertising formats on Digital Spy and the digital edition,” said Mark McCafferty, Head of Partnerships at Hearst Solutions.

The Apple News+ subscription service available in the UK for £9.99 a month—$9.99 in the US and $12.99 in Canada—and includes access to hundreds of the world’s top magazines and newspapers, including many major UK magazine brands such as Cosmopolitan, ELLE, Esquire, Women’s Health and Men’s Health.

Headline features that kick-start the debut Digital Spy issue include ‘The 100 Greatest TV Shows of the 21st Century’ – as voted by Digital Spy readers – a ‘Game of Thrones One Year On’ special, an exclusive insight into the future of TV with COVID-19, and a host of standout interviews.

It’s exclusive to Apple News+. Just think Netflix for magazines.

Publishers are increasingly working closely with Apple News+ to drive subscriptions, for mutual benefit. It’s a fundamental shift, illustrating a much closer partnership between Apple and publishers.

“We are unbelievably proud to launch the very first Digital Spy magazine, having worked so closely with the Apple News team to create such a bespoke experience,” added Matt Hill, Group Digital Strategy Director at Hearst UK.
