Taking place in Cascais, Lisbon between 6-8 June 2023, the 45th World Media Congress promises to be one of the year’s standout publisher conferences, with delegates from 36 countries worldwide. Tickets and sponsorship packages are still available.
Building on a successful event in June 2022 at the same venue, FIPP World Media Congress 2023 will bring together executives from a wide cross-section of media and technology sectors in the historic Citadela, Cascais, Portugal between 6th – 8th June 2023.

Currently, the USA has the most participants, followed by the UK, Japan, Portugal, Germany, Canada, The Netherlands and Denmark. Other countries represented include Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, China, Chinese Taipei, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Hungary, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Italy, Kurdistan Iraq, Kuwait, Latvia, Mexico, Myanmar, Norway, Saudi-Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Ukraine.

7. Q&A: To close out Congress 2023, FIPP President and CEO James Hewes will take the stage with Colin Morrison OBE, Editor-Publisher of Flashes & Flames. The Q&A session will allow delegates to ask Colin for his interpretations of the top themes emerging from Congress.

A key question is “where are we going?”. The multitude of content types, platforms and business models that we can now pursue is creating great complexity. Opportunities to connect, meet and converse
Aside from the speaker programme and in-depth sessions, there will also be ample opportunities before, during and post-Congress for attendees to connect online and face-to-face, arrange meetings and participate in conversations. Guild and Dealroom will be the two platforms used to facilitate this.
Guild is the platform for the Congress private, online community, created solely for Congress attendees. Mobile-first, the platform will operate as a safe space for participants to network, ask questions, air opinions, and more. Most importantly, it will help forge a deeper sense of community at the event and deepen valuable connections.
The community will launch the community in the week of 22 May, well before Congress, and it will be kept open afterwards. Jez Walters, Editor-in-Chief of Di5rupt, incorporating What’s New in Publishing, will host and moderate the community.
Dealroom enables participants to arrange exclusive and highly relevant meetings, a key way to help maximise the Congress experience and extract the most value from it. There will be a dedicated Dealroom area in the Expo Theatre. The Congress Dealroom will launch in the week of 22nd May.
Attendees will also get access to an on-demand platform with pre-recorded videos and, shortly after Congress, recordings of all the other sessions. Event photos and speaker slide decks (where permitted) will also be shared alongside session videos.
